Family Owned and Operated
A Message from our President
In property management and ownership, one of the most time consuming and financially burdening aspects is the maintenance, repair and replacement of the vast variety of HVAC systems. Therefore, you need an HVAC vendor that both parties can rely on. A company that is established in the Boulder community with over two decades of experience and most importantly, holds the values and ethics that it takes to build a long term trusting relationship for years to come. We strongly believe that Control Service Center, Inc. stands above all other mechanical contractors in the Boulder area and is the best fit for your business.
Founded in 1981 in downtown Boulder, Control Service Center (CSC) has its roots in the Boulder community. Starting as a three man crew consisting of founding partners Richard Strouse and Buck Forbes along with Jim Strouse, CSC has grown into a prominent competitor in the Boulder market. Although Rick succumbed to cancer in 2007, Jim Strouse, Brandon Strouse, and Kyle Strouse have continued to operate Control Service Center as a family business. We take a lot of pride in carrying on a family founded and operated corporation that has grown through hard work, honesty and the loyalty of our wonderful clientele. Many of our clients have been with us for well over two decades.
We originally got our start at Pearl East Circle by discovering that the installing contractor did not follow proper protocol when installing the Carrier VVT controls. Their errors caused many issues that we have had to straighten out over the years. Subsequently, we were hired to install the controls at the Highpoint and Flatirons Park buildings when they were built. Because of this, we have grown vastly familiar with not only the proper protocol for Carrier VVT, but of the locations and tendencies of each component in each building. The Generation II and III Carrier VVT Controls are vastly different than the majority of building automation controls on the market. We are confident in saying that our knowledge and skill with Carrier VVT sets us apart from any of our competitors. We are the only local contactor that is Carrier CS and IS certified on the new Carrier Open format. This not only gives us the training necessary to handle all control aspects in house, it also gives us a large advantage with pricing. These facts, along with our familiarities with the buildings, helps us to be extremely efficient and timely during service calls and repairs. We stock many of the common replacement parts for these buildings including obsolete VVT components. Recently we upgraded the controls in several of the Pearl East Circle buildings and found that our experience allowed us to not only be competitive with pricing, but we were able to correct long term issues during the project to increase tenant comfort and satisfaction.
Client satisfaction is something that we view as extremely important. It is a large contributor to our success over the years. We feel that we have been able to build a strong rapport with the tenants due to timely response and quality repairs. We know the personalities of long-term tenants and what they expect in terms of personal attention. Like any company, we have not been immune to the occasional mistake. However, we strongly believe that integrity plays a large role in creating long term relationships. When mistakes happen, we take it upon ourselves to be upfront with our clients and to do everything necessary to correct them. Our technicians know that they can be forthcoming with their own errors without expecting punishment. We would rather know about an issue and be able to correct it than to have them fearful of the repercussions. When it comes to client relations, we would much rather build a long term trusting relationship through honesty than to gain a quick dollar without integrity.
Not only do we pride ourselves in being honest to insure our clients get what they are paying for, we also believe in integrity when it comes to invoicing. Through hard work and efficiency, we are able to limit our overhead in comparison to our competitors. This allows us to maintain a very competitive hourly service rate. We do not charge any additional trip, fuel or surcharge on our invoicing. We practice being transparent, honest and fair in our billing process by charging only for the time and materials used. After 38 years in the industry, we have a good grasp on how much time repairs should take. If, for whatever reason, a repair takes more time than what is acceptable we adjust labor on our invoices to insure our clients are treated with honor. Our labor is warranted for 90 days on all repairs and at least one year on all new equipment or big items such as compressors. It is our goal to provide our clients with the highest value available.
In summary, Control Service Center, Inc. is best suited to serve the HVAC needs of your property. Being family owned and operated in the Boulder community for nearly four decades, we are well established and well positioned for success and stability. Our staff holds the experience and skills necessary to efficiently serve the needs of tenants, property managers and ownership. We understand the importance and cost of owning and managing the mechanical aspects of properties. We look forward to working with you to make your jobs easier by having a firm you can rely on.
Sincerely,
Brandon Strouse
